Energy Star Communities

entrance

An Energy Star qualified home might look the same as all the other houses on the block. If it weren’t for the little blue label, you wouldn’t probably even notice a difference — at least, not at first. Once you see your first (and second, and twentieth) low utility bill, though, you’ll start to understand the benefits of an energy-efficient home.

It’s quite simple, really. You’ll conserve more energy, spend less, and help the environment while you’re at it. You might only expect to see the label on your furnace and air conditioner. But in fact, you’ll find energy-conserving practices throughout your home. Windows, ducts, lighting, insulation—they’re all essential to increasing energy efficiency. And they all add up over time to save you money. Not just any home can receive the Energy Star label: its heating, cooling and water heating systems must be at least 30% more efficient than a comparable home built to the Model Energy Code.

Independent home energy raters analyze construction plans and conduct onsite inspections before approving each house. You can rest easy knowing your home is performing efficiently.

At Parkwood Homes, we’re proud to offer our homebuyers the best for nature and their pocketbooks. If you’d like to learn more about Energy Star qualified homes, contact us, or just visit www.energystar.gov/homes.
